<- 1994, I.B. Ivshina, 1C. Isolated from: oil-polluted soil, Perm region, Russia. Taxonomy/description: shows positive result with Rhodococcus rhodochrous primers in species-specific PCR; 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Properties: uses n-hexadecane, butanol, and crude oil as a sole carbon source; resistant to Zn2+ (10.0 mM), Mo6+ (5.0 mM); transforms pentacyclic triterpenoids oleanolic and glycyrrhetinic acids (1.0 g/L) (430, 439). (Medium: 2, 8 or 15, 28°C).
