<- 1990, E.A. Elovikova, Har-5. Isolated from: sewage, Harbin, China. Taxonomy/description: 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis (GenBank accession number MG637024). Properties: uses propane and n-butane as a sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes; shows pronounced emulsifying and biodegradation activity of individual hydrocarbons and oil products; bioremediation agent for oil-contaminated soil; degrades paracetamol (265) and sodium diclofenac (410, 421); resistant to Cu2+, Mo6+, Pb2+ (5.0 mM); stable under extreme acidity (pH 2-6) and salinity (2-6% NaCl). Metabolites: transforms diclofenac to fumarylacetic, fumaric and acetic acids. (Medium 2 or 5, 28oC).
